THE BIRTH OF WEST SACRAMENTO COMMUNITY CHURCH LOGO DESIGN

The logo design for West Sacramento Community Church (WSCC) was birthed out of a
vision from God Himself.  In January 2007, I received a phone call from Pastor M.E. Ross
and she shared with me about what God had called her to do. God had called her to join
Him in starting a community church in West Sacramento, CA.

After listening to her about what God was doing through her and others, I volunteered to design the church
  logo.
I informed Pastor Ross that before designing the logo that I would pray and ask God to give me a vision
for the design. Pastor Ross and I were in agreement. Before our phone conversation ended, Pastor Ross
prayed with me that God would illuminate my mind and guide my hands to develop the design that He wanted
  to represent His church.

During the week of February 14, 2007, God woke me up around 2:00 am. I was extremely excited about God’s
wake-up call because I knew that He was up to something. I immediately grabbed my tablet from the table
next to my bed and begun to scribe. What I was scribbling did not make sense to me and it didn’t look like
anything that God would have created. So I went back to bed. Once again, God woke me up around 3:15 am.
I grabbed my tablet and began to scribble. In my mind’s eye I knew that God was going to allow me to see
what He wanted me to see but the vision was not clear at least not from what I saw on the paper. All of the
sketches on my paper seemed to amount to nothing. So I went back to bed.

Around 4:00 am God woke me up again.  By this time, I was exhausted and weary from broken sleep.  Despite
of how I felt I began to put the pencil to the paper. Suddenly my mind was clear and my hand began to move
freely across the paper. It was as if God Himself had taken over my thoughts and placed His hand on top of
my hand while guiding my hand to sketch something. WOW, I thought. I could hardly believe my eyes. I could
see the “W”. I was amazed about how God had transferred what He wanted through me onto the paper.
The vision was clear and now captured on paper.

Immediately, exhaustion and weariness left me. My body perked up and my soul rejoiced because I had
witnessed and participated in a new birth, the birth of the WSCC logo.

By faith the logo design for West Sacramento Community Church was born. God heard and honored our prayers.

I give all honor and glory to God for allowing me to join Him in what He is doing in the life of His people at
  West Sacramento Community Church.

  To God be the Glory,
