The Birth of West Sacramento Community Church
In 2004 Melvin Ross and Maria Ross began praying about selling their two-story and purchasing a single
story home. For many months they prayed and searched to find the home that God had for them. Their
search took them to various locations within the Sacramento area which included; Lincoln, Rocklin,
El Dorado Hills, Roseville, Elk Grove, Rancho Cordova, Plumas Lake and lastly West Sacramento.
Finally, God answered their prayer. In August 2005, they purchased a single story home in West
Sacramento, CA. This was just the beginning of God’s divine plan for their lives in that community.
In October 2006 they were called to join God in planting a new church. During that time God had not
revealed many details. Therefore the Ross’ and others began to pray for guidance and answers. God did
answer. With God’s direction and a call to action, plans were set in motion.
Through God’s guidance, obedience in response to the call and faith, the West Sacramento Community
Church located in West Sacramento, California was born on January 28, 2007.
The West Sacramento Community Church is a place where all people from all walks of life can find hope
for the hopeless, love for the unloved, peace for the restless, comfort for the comfortless, healing for

At WSCC we are committed:
To love the Lord our God with all of our heart, with all of our soul and with all of our strength. Through
worship, experiencing an awareness of God, celebrating His presence by magnifying and exalting Him. Recognizing Him as
the creator of the universe.
To love our neighbor as ourselves. Through experiencing an increasingly healthy, meaningful fellowship
with fellow
believers. Relentlessly minister to persons in the community and world in the name of Jesus Christ.
To go and make disciples. Being empowered and led by the Holy Spirit to share Christ with as many people
as
possible in our families, our church, place of employment, community, and throughout the world.
To baptize those who come into the family of God; through water submersion and baby dedication.
To teach the Word of God; teaching people to become more like Christ in their thoughts, feelings, and actions
emphasizing total commitment of life.
To practice being a generous giver through faithful tithing and sacrificial
giving for the financial support of Christ’s Body, the church, and the community as God commands.
